| | Know what type of guy you're looking for. Make a list of traits that appeal to you, such as intelligence, looks, ambition, sense of humor (if it's for humor always laugh at his jokes), or respect for other people's feelings. - Get involved in activities that you enjoy to give yourself the chance to meet new guys. Expand your horizons and your circle of friends.
- Introduce yourself. If you don't really know the guy you're eyeing, or if you don't really know that many guys worth calling a boyfriend in general, there are many ways you can get noticed.
- Get to know him. Sometimes we become enamored with a fantasy that the guy can fit into, more than the real person himself. Make sure your intentions are genuine and show him how you feel. Be part-talker, part-listener. Show your interest, as meeting new people should be exciting, but also remember to refer to your own hobbies. Look for connections!
- Become a friend. This can sometimes be risky if you do not move quickly. They may begin to think of you as a friend and nothing more.
- See if the feeling is mutual. Read the signs. And while you can't force someone to like you, you can encourage him to give you a chance.
- Show him how you can be an amazing girlfriend. Emphasize your best features. Make the most of what you have, both physically and mentally. Show your character.
- Ask him out or keep repeating the steps above while he comes around on his own.
- Move on if it's just not coming together. There are other fish in the sea, and there's more to life than having a boyfriend anyway!
